We've Been Doing This A Long Time. Still Learning Every Day.

Real Machine Work. Real Engine Builds. Real Content.

At this time, we are not accepting walk-in or general public work. To maintain the quality and attention to detail our work requires, we limit the number of jobs we take on and are currently at capacity.

Jim’s Automotive Machine Shop is a small, two-person operation, and our most limited resource is time. This allows us to focus on doing the work right, not rushing it.

While we are not currently accepting general public or walk-in work, we occasionally consider unique, historically significant, or otherwise interesting projects that align with our experience and current workload.

Please understand that submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance of the project, or a response. Due to limited time and resources, we may only reply to inquiries that are a strong fit.

Jimmie "The Cleaning Guy" Wolfrum

In 1983, Jimmie opened the doors to this machine shop with a simple goal: do honest work and do it right.

For over 40 years, he served local customers by relying on hands-on experience, careful machining, and doing things the right way — even when it took longer.

Today, he’s stepping back from daily operations, but the shop still runs on the principles he built it on. His knowledge, stories, and instincts are a huge part of the videos and a constant reminder of where we came from

Nicolaus "The Kid" Wolfrum

As the next generation owner, Nicolaus is focused on carrying the shop into its next chapter without losing what made it successful in the first place. The same principles of quality, honesty, and craftsmanship still apply — now paired with modern tooling, data-driven testing, and constant experimentation.

He’s the driving force behind the shop’s content, documenting real builds, dyno testing, and lessons learned along the way. Every day is about refining processes, questioning assumptions, and pushing for better results — not just for the videos, but for every engine that leaves the shop.
